R. Frank Nims Middle School is a vibrant learning community where every student is valued, challenged, and supported. Our school is committed to providing a diverse and rigorous curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. From engaging core instruction to enrichment opportunities, our talented and caring educators ensure that every child receives individualized instruction designed to promote academic growth and personal success.

Our academically rich programs include a notable Pre-Law Program, high school credit courses, and robust college preparation initiatives that set a strong foundation for future success.

  • Registration is straightforward and can be done online or in person at the school office. Required documents include proof of residence, birth certificate, and immunization records.

  • We welcome family involvement! Parents can volunteer in classrooms, join the PTA, participate in family nights, or attend school events. Your involvement strengthens our school community and supports your child's learning experience.

  • Technology is integrated to enhance learning, with resources such as interactive whiteboards, tablets, and educational software that support students' digital literacy and engagement.

Participation Fees for Home Education and Private School Students

In accordance with Leon County Schools Board Policy 2431, eligible home education and private school students who choose to participate in a Leon County Schools athletic team or performing arts program are required to pay the applicable participation fee for each sport and/or activity in which they participate.

The participation fee shall be the greater of:

  • $400.00 per sport and/or activity, or
  • The participation fee established for enrolled Leon County Schools students participating in that same sport or activity.

Only one participation fee will be assessed per sport or activity. Students will not be charged both amounts.

All participation fees are paid directly to the school where the student participates.

For participation requirements, applicable fees, and registration procedures, please contact the school's Athletic Director, Band Director, or Director.
